Ubuntu

I am because you are,
Without you, who would I be?
In life, we are mirrors,
Reflecting what makes us live.

If one falls, we all feel it,
But if one grows, we all rise,
We carry the wounds together,
And share the same bread.

In the other’s eyes, I find myself,
In your smile, I make a home,
Ubuntu is this simple truth,
That no one walks the road alone.

Every gesture I offer you,
Returns to me in some way,
For we are part of a bond,
That doesn’t fade away.

If there is pain, I feel it with you,
If there is love, we both grow strong,
To be human is this, my friend,
We are one, when together we belong.

Life only makes sense,
When we reach out with open hands,
I am because you are,
In unity, we find where we stand.
